Mobile Ordering at Walt Disney World

Share this:

Mobile Ordering at Quick Service dining locations at Walt Disney World is still a relatively new concept but it is a great way to cut down on waiting in long lines during a busy lunch rush. There are currently 24 locations around the parks, Disney Springs, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort that offer Mobile Ordering, which are listed below. It seems that every few weeks, Disney is expanding this option so hopefully Mobile Ordering will eventually be offered at every Quick Service dining location. Here’s hoping that Mobile Ordering will be available at the Starbucks locations in the Parks soon!

What it Mobile Ordering?

Mobile Ordering is a way to order and pay for your food at selection Quick Service locations by using the My Disney Experience app. Guests can completely skip the ordering line, which can sometimes get quite lengthy, and head straight to the Pick Up counter. A great feature to this service is that you do not have to place your order at the same time you wish to eat; you only need to hit the “I’m Here, Prepare My Order” button when you are ready to eat. This can save you some time by ordering your food while waiting for a show or in line for an attraction and then eating whenever you are hungry. However, you can only place your order for that same day and when that dining location is open. Even if you are not sure what you want to eat until it is lunchtime, it can still be quicker to use Mobile Order and pick up your food right away, than waiting in the ordering line.

One downside to the Mobile Ordering option is that you are unable to apply any discounts towards your meal, including Annual Passholder, Disney Vacation Club, or Cast Member discounts.

How does Mobile Ordering work?

Mobile Ordering is done entirely through the My Disney Experience app. The option for Order Food is right on the main page or you can also find the dining location you wish to order from on the Dining map/list.

After hitting Order Food, a list of all the locations which offer the service appear and you can select which Quick Service you are looking for. The locations are divided by Park.

Click on the Quick Service option and the main page for the location comes up. There is a lot of helpful information here such as the exact location of the restaurant, what the operating hours are for that day, the average price, and the type of cuisine. Click on the Order Food button again.

This brings up the full menu as well as the time you have to pick up your order by. Select what you wish to order.

The next page will give options for any customization being offered for that item. Click Add.

After making all of your selections, click on View My Order. This will allow any last minute changes.

Click Review Order Summary. This brings up the order again, as well as the Payment Method and total payment due including tax.

Hit Purchase and then you will have the option of clicking “I’m Here, Prepare My Order” or coming back to it later. You will get an Order # and a notification when it is ready for pick up. Some locations even have a designated Mobile Order Pick Up counter. At the Pick Up counter, the Cast Member may ask to see your Order # as proof of purchase, but not always. Just something to be ready for.

A good tip when it comes to Mobile Ordering is to test it out early on in the day before you are Hangry and end up having to wait in line anyway. This is just to make sure that your payment method has linked up properly and you understand how to use the app. Simply try placing your order for lunch early in the day, or if you haven’t decided where to eat, grab a morning Dole Whip. Also, make sure you are at the right location when you click “I’m Here, Prepare My Order”. I know it seems obvious, but some of those Quick Service locations are quite close together, especially in Magic Kingdom!

  1. We haven’t had a chance to use the mobile ordering yet, but I’m SO excited for it! I absolutely hate ordering food at the quick service locations so I’m a big fan of this! Can’t wait to try it! PS. I’m pinning this to remind myself before our trip in May!

  2. Mobile ordering saved me when I did Disney solo with my 3 and 6 year old! I would wait until we found a table as close to the pick up window as possible to have my food prepared and then I was able to quickly grab the food without having my kids wait in line with me. It is such a helpful feature!
